Frequently Asked Questions:
- Do I need to purchase or reserve tickets to attend?
No, we are not distributing tickets. We ask that all registered graduates and their guests arrive on time. - How many guests can I bring?
The number of guests you can bring will be determined after we close RSVPs. We are using the honor system, so please do not bring more than the allotted number. Bringing extra people may result in someone else’s guests not being able to sit, could result in a violation of room occupancy, and cancellation of the event. - How long is the duration of the event?
The Physics Graduation Celebration will last for about 1 hour and 15 minutes followed by a reception with refreshments. - What should I wear?
Business casual is acceptable dress code for everyone, but we encourage students to dress as festively as they wish. Participating graduates may wear a graduation robe if one was ordered. - How do I get a parking permit?
Please view information on graduation event parking. - Will there be accessible seating or accommodations?
There is accessible seating at the top of both Physics Astronomy Auditorium A102 and A118 rooms which will be labelled for individuals who need these seats and are first come first served.
The descending rows require the use of stairs.
If you require additional accommodations, reach out to us (physadvs@uw.edu) at least 7 days in advance. - Where is the Physics Department Graduation Celebration located?
The street address for Physics Astronomy Auditorium (PAA) is 3910 15th Ave NE, Seattle, WA 98105. HOWEVER, please drop off attendees and guests to PAA via the W. Stevens Way NE side, by entering the UW campus at NE 40th St. The 15th Ave NE side has stairs (no elevator access) and no place to drop off. Please see map below:Please let us know if you have questions, and we look forward to celebrating with you!
