S@INT Seminar: "The 3D structure of jet-induced Mach cone in high-energy heavy-ion collisions"

When the speed of a fast-moving projectile exceeds the velocity of sound in the medium, fronts of the generated sound waves are squeezed to form a Mach cone. The same phenomenon is also expected in a small droplet of subatomic liquid called quark gluon plasma (QGP) in high energy nuclear collisions where the Mach cone is induced by a propagating parton or jet. In this talk, I will discuss the 3D structure of a jet-induced Mach cone and its sensitivity to the equation of state and transport coefficients of QGP. I will also discuss how a machine-learning assisted jet tomography can help to investigate the signals of the jet-induced Mach cone.
