Whereas the Hamiltonian is usually supposed to be Hermitian, it can be non-Hermitian by coupling to environments. In this talk, I discuss a possible generalization of topological phases in the presence of non-Hermiticity. In particular, I reveal topological aspects of non-Hermitian skin effects-a state accumulation intrinsic to non-Hermitian systems- and argue related non-perturbative phenomena.
