ColdQuanta is building a universal gate-model quantum computer based on dense 2D arrays of optically trapped and cooled cesium atoms. I will cover the ColdQuanta cold atom quantum computer architecture, including approaches to generating defect-free atom arrays, implementing single and two qubit gates, and the difficult challenge of calibration of the multitude of parameters such a system involves. Gate and circuit execution results from ColdQuanta’s prototype quantum computer and from our close academic collaborators show great promise. I will also highlight the path that ColdQuanta sees to scaling cold atom quantum computers and the work that we are doing to address open scaling challenges.
