In lieu of our usual annual awards dinner and spring bbq for the Physics department, there will be a virtual department gathering this Thursday, June 4, starting at 3:30 pm PDT to honor awardees and express appreciation to the many people who have gone above and beyond this year and contributed in many different ways.
These are, of course, unprecedented times with most people feeling stressed, worried about friends and family, and distressed by many events in the news. I hope that all of us will manage to get through this time and do what we can to help those around us. If you are able to do so, please join me and much of our Physics community this Thursday to acknowledge and recognize the positive contributions of many of our fellow department members. I know there will be conflicts, but I hope to see many of you on my screen!
