Topology, and Orbital Orders in Moiré systems
Cenke Xu, Department of Physics, UCSB
The Moire system is a new amazing platform for a plethora of exciting phenomena such as correlated insulator at fractional filling, superconductor (possibly spin triplet superconductor), quantum anomalous Hall effect, competing order, strange metal, etc. In this talk we present possible theoretical understandings of these phenomena. We first discuss the magnetism and superconductor assuming a trivial topology of the miniband; then we discuss the interplay between the strong interaction and nontrivial band topology in the system; eventually we will discuss various orbital fluctuations and their potential connection with recently observed strange metal behavior in Moire systems.
