Abstract: There is much recent interest in Majorana-based topological quantum computation. In this talk, I sketch the basic outline of a corresponding quantum computer which is rooted in current ideas for realistic hardware implementations. After a general introduction, this includes a unified framework for Majorana-based quantum computation,  which is first introduced for physical Majorana qubits and then extended to logical qubits based on Majorana surface or color codes. At both levels, all Clifford gates are implemented with zero-time overhead by introducing a protocol for Pauli product measurements which requires only local parity measurements.
