Research Assistantship with Prof. Cirigliano for Autumn 2026

One Graduate Research Assistantship is now available for the Fall Quarter of 2026The Research Assistantship is funded at 0.5 FTE level.  It involves working with Professor V. Cirigliano to support research on effective field theory for CP-violation in nuclei. Description: The focus of the research is to develop an effective field theory (EFT)  framework for CP violation in neutral atoms and molecules.  A prospective student would carry out research in projects that could include: (1) setting up the leading operators that control CP violation at the atomic level, in an EFT framework that treats the nucleus as non-relativistic and the electron as relativistic; (2) understanding the field-theoretic analogue of the so-called Schiff theorem for the screening of nuclear electric dipole moment.
