The InQubator for Quantum Simulation (IQuS) at the University of Washington anticipates filling one or two fulltime postdoctoral scholar (research associate) positions to start in September 2021. Outstanding candidates in quantum information theory, quantum simulation, lattice gauge theory, nuclear physics or particle physics, broadly defined, are invited to apply. These positions are full-time, 12-month (one-year) appointment, which may be extended (upon successful performance) up to a maximum term of three years, subject to funding and mutual agreement. The Postdoctoral Scholar title is limited to five years, including postdoctoral experience(s) at UW and other institutions.
IQuS consist of four faculty members, S. R. Beane, David Kaplan, Alessandro Roggero and Martin Savage, and students. One of the postdoctoral positions will be supported by the Department of Energy Quantum Science Center, a National Quantum Information Science Research Center. Postdoctoral researchers associated with the Quantum Science Center will engage with a network of universities, national laboratories, and industry to overcome key roadblocks in quantum state resilience, controllability, and ultimately the scalability of quantum technologies to realize the quantum future. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with the Los Alamos Thrust-2 team focused on neutrino dynamics and other quantum-many-body systems.
