First Constraints from DAMIC-M on Sub-GeV Dark-Matter Particles Interacting with Electrons

The two 24 megapixel CCDs for the experiment were packaged, tested and deployed by the team of researchers from CENPA. Other CENPA contributions include the design of the copper holder and the data acquisition software.

The DAMIC-M dark matter experiment, in which Assistant Professor Alvaro Chavarria plays a key role, has reported its first results including world-leading constraints on sub-GeV dark matter particles interacting with electrons.
