Christopher joined the Physics department in 2016 and brings a wealth of Astronomical knowledge with him. A veteran of the private space sector and an active science communicator, Christopher has over 15 years experience in a variety of technical and consulting roles across a diverse range of fields including IT, observational astronomy, Earth observation, telescope construction, education and public outreach, documentary film production, TV & radio. Christopher also dabbles in data science, and collaborated with Carbon Visuals, to produce climate science visualizations that were featured at the White House 'Data Palooza', 2014. He also collaborated with the European Space Agency as part of the AURORA program grant to produce a series of documentary films and science visualization project focused on the exploration of Mars. As well as his work at UW Christopher currently hosts the Stargazer astronomy news segment on Hawai'i Public Radio and is collaborating with the Space Telescope Science Institute to develop a VR data viz application for The Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS) mission.
